Youth Forward Academy (YFA) provides a multi-year enrichment experience, encouraging imagination, creation and hands on experience, for motivated, interesting middle school students living in Chicago. Through rigorous academic activities, healthy living experiences and character development, YFA teaches young people to take care of their mind and body.

Youth Forward Academy students are required to attend an intense five-week program during the summer following the fourth through sixth grade years. In addition, parents are asked to attend an orientation session, meetings and workshops. To participate in Youth Forward Academy there is no cost to the families.

Youth Forward Academy starts on Monday, July 7, 2008. The summer sessions operate in the mornings Monday through Friday, ending on Wednesday, August 13th. Students also have the option of participating in the Insight program during the school year to reinforce the lessons learned during the summer so they can continue to grow and progress. Applications are available for Youth Forward Academy in April and are due in late May.
